Rooms

There are four room types: Standard, Premium, Deluxe & Superior. Each room is spacious, tastefully furnished and have their own private ensuite.
The original home was built in 1964 with extra wings added in 1995. Rooms in the older part are smaller, with renovations set to take place throughout 2019 in order to create more space and give everyone their own ensuite bathroom.
Team Structure
Eliza Purton is one of the biggest employers on the northwest coast of Tasmania. Our team consists of clinical staff and specialists including registered nurses and personal care assistants available on-call, 24-hours a day. A social care team deals with activities and therapy. Team members are passionate, caring and friendly and go above and beyond to build a genuine rapport with residents.

Provided Services
With attention to the complete health and wellbeing of our residents, the services we offer combine specialist care with quality of life. Beyond our standard care offerings, further services accommodate specific needs of residents.
Dedicated specialists like physiotherapists, podiatrists and optometrists are available upon request and make frequent visits. For personal styling needs, a hairdresser is available on a weekly basis by appointment. Church organisations also make occasional visits to suit resident’s spiritual requirements.
Food & Diet
A dedicated catering department cooks everything fresh, ready to serve, in-house. Residents give feedback regularly, with menus rotated seasonally. Menu options are offered in accordance with what residents want and are supported by dieticians. Fresh food arrives throughout the week and is provided locally through the Oscar Hospitality Program.
Activities & Excursions
Regular meetings are held by residents to help determine what programs and social activities are offered. Bus trips to surrounding countryside and other places of interest happen a couple times a month. Regular visits with a Registered Music Therapist are also organised for the enjoyment of our residents.

Pricing
Basic Daily Fee
A basic daily fee is used to contribute towards your day-to-day living costs such as meals, cleaning, laundry, heating and cooling. It is part of the overall fees you pay towards your care.
The basic daily fee increases on 20 March and 20 September each year in line with changes to the Age Pension.
The basic daily fee is 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension. From 20 March 2022 to 19 September 2022 the basic daily fee will be:
$54.69 per day
This amount is indexed with the age pension. This applies even if you are a member of a couple.
Means-tested Care Fee
A contribution to care fee is paid to the federal government where a person is in a financial position to do so. The cost (if any) of a person’s Contribution to Care Fee is dependent on their financial situation and is determined by the government. Please note the government have a lifetime cap on this fee.
