Nestled in the heart of the quiet town of Penguin, on the northwest coast of Tasmania, Coroneagh Park’s seaside placement is rich with open spaces and relaxing beaches.

The home is based on an open plan design, with large corridors and glass that open up to a small courtyard. All areas are modernised with a homely feel, from quiet areas to common areas to congregate.

Care Structure

We offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of services including:

  • Residential aged care
  • Palliative care
  • Secure dementia care
  • Respite care

Provided Services

With attention to the complete health and wellbeing of our residents, the services we offer combine specialist care with quality of life. Beyond our standard care offerings, further services accommodate specific needs of residents.

Dedicated specialists like physiotherapists, podiatrists and optometrists are available upon request and make frequent visits. External providers offer services like hearing and musical therapy with an audiologist visiting regularly. Beauty therapists and hairdressers come in weekly and are available by appointment.

Food & Diet

A resident chef ensures that healthy and balanced meal choices are always available and of the highest standard. Meetings are regularly held with residents where feedback sheets are distributed in order to meet their individual needs.

Meals consist of traditional fare, while attempting to offer as much variety as possible. The menu is rotated seasonally. Fresh food arrives throughout the week and is provided locally through the Oscar Hospitality Program.

Activities & Excursions

Social care programs encourage and facilitate daily activities, organising a variety of games and group activities each day of the week. Residents are asked what they’d like to do at bi-monthly meetings. Organised bus trips allow residents to leave the home and go to lunch or shop as a group. Overnight trips or holidays with family members are also encouraged where possible. Residents as well as visitors are welcome to come and go as they please. Regular visits with a Registered Music Therapist are also organised for the enjoyment of our residents.

Basic Daily Fee

A daily care fee is used to contribute towards your day-to-day living costs such as meals, cleaning, laundry, heating and cooling. It is part of the overall fees you pay towards your care. The daily care fee increases on 20 March and 20 September each year in line with changes to the Age Pension.

The basic daily fee is 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension. From 20 September 2019, the single rate of the basic age pension is $850.40 per fortnight, making the basic daily fee (from 20 September to 19 March 2019):

$51.63 per day; or
$722.84 per fortnight

This amount is indexed with the age pension. This applies even if you are a member of a couple.

Means-tested Care Fee

A contribution to care fee is paid to the federal government where a person is in a financial position to do so. The cost (if any) of a person’s Contribution to Care Fee is dependent on their financial situation and is determined by the government. Please note the government have a lifetime cap on this fee.
